Firefighter Ethan Petersen, of the Cal Fire San Mateo-Santa Cruz Unit, makes a phone call before he and the Santa Cruz strike team head back home Monday afternoon. Rich Wood is given a duffle bag full of necessities at the first Lake and Mendocino Counties Stand Down/Homeless Veterans Resource Fair on Wednesday. Wood served in the U.S. Military from 1968-72 and currently lives in a field. He was one of more than 150 veterans to attend the two-day event in Clearlake.
