Michael Slaten

Michael Slaten covers Anaheim and Huntington Beach for the Orange County Register. He graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Journalism where he was a part of the Investigative Reporting Program. Originally born and raised in Texas, he graduated from the University of Houston, where he was the editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, The Cougar. He has previously reported for the Houston Chronicle and Oakland North. Despite his Texas roots, he loves the Los Angeles Rams. He also enjoys exploring California, and you can likely find him at one of Orange County’s local beaches.
