Charles “Chuck” Edmund Lowell OBITUARY
Charles “Chuck” Edmund Lowell Chuck was a man like no other. He spent his life sharing The Word, his testimony, and giving to others. He was born in Massachusetts on September 14th, 1934, where he grew up, and later enlisted in the Navy at 17 years old. During his station in Yokohama, Japan, he overheard another sailor talking to himself in the barracks. Soon after, he learned the sailor was praying and it wasn’t long before Danny Stephens from the hills of North Carolina led him to faith in Christ and changed the direction of his life forever. Chuck married his wife Ellie and had four children: Tim, Chip, Todd and Kerry. While the kids were young, they took the leap and drove out to California where Chuck started his career in teaching, from Southern California to little Lake County. Chuck started up Deep Valley Christian School in Redwood Valley and then started Lakeport Christian Center School where he was the principal for years. His wife had dedicated her life to missionary work in Chile and pursued that alone. Years after, Chuck met Judy and married her in May of 1990. As a team, they raised Amber, Tiffany and Ashley, along with all the other grandkids, great grandkids, cousins and friends that came through their door for the next 30 years. Chuck was a 6 th grade teacher at Mountain Vista Middle School where he taught until retirement at the young age of 74. Chuck lived a life so beautiful, sharing the Gospel and offering help to all in need, whether it was a warm meal, a listening ear, or the shirt off his back. Up until the day he passed, on February 23 rd , he made sure his passing would not burden anyone. He was ready to be with the Lord and reunited with his wife and children who we lost too soon. He was so pleased with the life he lived, the encounters he had, and the people who had the opportunity of being present in his story. His legacy will live on through those who knew him, and we will always remember what a selfless, loving man he was to us all. A service to celebrate Chuck’s life will be held Saturday, April 12 th at 1pm at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Kelseyville. Refreshments to follow.
