Gene Nelson OBITUARY

Gene Nelson OBITUARY

Gene Dean Nelson was born July 22, 1972, in Fargo, North Dakota. He later moved to Arizona before California where he became a Lake County resident of about 20 years. Gene was known by “Dino” by his family and friends. He loved wildlife, nature, and Native American Spirituality. He worked as a journeyman dry wall finisher for the Union for over 25 years. He enjoyed the freedom of riding a Harley and was an advocate for patients of medical cannabis before and after his long-time employment with Triple C Collective. He considered everybody there “family.” Although he was quiet, he had many friends in this community. Dino was a faithful friend to the down-trodden, the broken hearted, the sick, and anyone that felt like a misfit. He would be the first to help someone in need-a hitchhiker needing a ride, the homeless needing kindness and a helping hand, or a child who needed a surprise at the grocery store’s prize machines. Gene was an unbelievable artist and enjoyed showing support for other local artists and musicians. He is survived by his son, Isaac Nelson, Mother, Colleen Zimmerman, Brothers, Troy, Dennis, and Brian, Sisters, Shairly and Dyana, and Wife, Becky Martin. “Dino’s” celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 19th at 2pm at the American Legion followed by a potluck. Dino loved all people, and he loved to find reasons to smile. All are welcome.
