Harry Krall OBITUARY
Harry Krall beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025 at the age of 90. Born on June 23, 1935, in Lawrence, Pennsylvania, the youngest of five children. Harry lived a full and rich life devoted to family, sports and community. After graduating from Concord University with a bachelor’s degree, Harry was drafted into the United States Army and stationed in California. Following his service, he returned to Pennsylvania to begin his career as a teacher. In time, an invitation brought him back to California, where new chapters awaited. Harry worked for the U.S. Coast Guard in Berkeley and was a regular at La Val’s, where his easy charm and warm personality drew people in. Eventually, he began working there and it was at La Val’s that he met the love of his life, Rilla. They married in 1965 and together built a beautiful family, welcoming five children: Kevin (1966), Monica (1967), Bridget (1969), Alyson (1970), and Traci (1972). In 1975, Harry realized a lifelong dream when he became the proud owner of a local saloon, which he ran for 32 years. His saloon became more than a business it was a gathering place for friends, neighbors, and travelers, all welcomed by Harry’s warmth, humor, and generosity. Harry’s proudest role was that of a family man. He deeply loved his children and took great pride in the lives they built. He adored his grandchildren, Katelyn, Justin and Cole and his great-grandson, Patrick, who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his loving sister, Alice, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Harry will be remembered for his kind, humble nature that welcomed and accepted everyone he met. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he especially loved golf and football whether watching a big game, or sharing stories from the fairway, his passion for sports brought him joy and connection with others. He also loved reading his daily newspaper and never missed a day. Harry’s warmth extended beyond family to friends and community alike, leaving a lasting impact on those he encountered. His life’s journey took him from Pennsylvania to California and beyond, but his heart was always with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
