Linda Kay Kencke Surrounded by her loving family, Linda Kencke (Stephens) went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2025. Linda was born to Gerald and Melinda Stephens on October 27, 1946, in Streator, Illinois. She was followed a few years later by her sister Janice. She lived most of her young life in Illinois attending elementary school, high school, and completing a dental assisting program post graduation. It was there that she met the love of her life, Gene Kencke. Following his discharge from the military, they were married in 1967 and began to grow their family. Linda and Gene eventually settled in Clearlake, California where they raised their children. Linda worked for several years as a special education instructional assistant at Mountain Vista Middle School and was involved in their local church. As the family expanded to include spouses and grandchildren, there was nothing Linda enjoyed more than seeing all of her family spending time together. Linda’s life was marked by generosity and her love for the Lord. She was generous with her time, with her money and with her love. She and Gene opened their home and hearts to many and leave a legacy of showing God’s love to the people around them. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Melinda Stephens, her husband, Gene Kencke and her beloved sons, Dirk and Dusty. She is survived by her children, Lance (Stacey), Stephanie (Alex), Jackie (Doug), Joe (Rebekah), daughter-in-law Allison, Harriet, David (Arianna), Dan, Nina and her sister Janice (George). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and a great grandson. A private service will be held on June 30, 2025 at the Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Rd, Eagle Point, OR 97524 where she will be interred with her husband Gene.
